Over the last ten years I got more and more involved in the world of FOSS - at the university first, then at home and also at work later on. Currently, my own business is based on FOSS, too.

The talk is an retrospective and will show the different aspects of FOSS usage paired with my personal involvement - as an ordinary user, software developer as well as a conference participant and event manager.

About Frank Hofmann : I studied Computer Science at the Chemnitz University of Technology an now work in Potsdam/Berlin as a free software developer. I have been a member of the core team for the organization of several German Linux events such as the Linux-Tage in Chemnitz and the Brandenburg Linux Infotag. I am an enthusiast of LaTeX and Python, have been mastering Live CDs (Knoppix) and I am currently organizing talks in Berlin.
